　　環(huán)球教育顏王團楊亮老師奉上教育類詞匯第二波，整理這些詞匯的時候，心猿意馬，洋洋灑灑。有些時候，難免扯得有些遠了，筆者盡量回歸本質(zhì)，恪守主題，與各位攜手攻克詞匯和論點匱乏之難關(guān)。

 

　　1.教育類的話題，往往都會對于學生的范圍有明確的規(guī)定。例如只討論中學生，或者大學生的話題等等。往往題干中會對討論的對象做明確要求，或者是通過年齡來限制范圍。

 

　　例如，小學階段開始學習外語較好還是中學階段開始學習外語較好。因此如下詞匯需要考生們必須了解：

 

　　Childcare centers托兒所/育兒中心

 

　　Kindergarten,preschool幼兒園/學前班（尤其是后者，往往指學前班）

 

　　Primary school,elementary school小學

 

　　Secondary school,middle school一般指的是中學階段

 

　　Junior middle school,初中

 

　　Senior middle,high school,senior high school,senior middle school,都指高中

 

　　University,college都是大學，通常在雅思寫作中兩者并無本質(zhì)區(qū)別

 

　　Undergraduate college,本科階段

 

　　Postgraduate college,研究生階段

 

　　2.Shape a positive world view/develop positive value system前者表示塑造一個積極的世界觀，而后者的意思是發(fā)展一個積極的價值觀。兩個短語在教育類寫作中，都被認為是現(xiàn)代教育的功能之一。

 

　　Besides academic knowledge,modern schooling can substantially help students develop positive value system,which is thought by educators much more significant than other things that students can gain in schools.

 

　　在學校，建立積極的價值觀才是最重要的，其他的都是浮云。這個論點是告訴大家，學術(shù)教育可不是學校教育的全部。

 

　　3.Versatile形容詞，多才多藝的。與其類似的詞匯還有all-round形容詞，全面的(名詞形式all-rounder多面手)，以及generalist名詞，多面手。

 

　　In this competitive society,versatile workforce with fairly high comprehensive quality is what most of employers are seeking for,instead of fresh graduates who are only equipped with theoretical knowledge.

 

　　在這個競爭激烈的社會，光懂點理論知識是混不下去的，必須要有很強的綜合素質(zhì)才可以出人頭地的。如果需要論證為什么大學畢業(yè)生就業(yè)率低，就可以使用這個論點。

 

　　PS：comprehensive quality綜合素質(zhì)

 

　　fresh graduates剛剛畢業(yè)的學生（應屆畢業(yè)生）

 

　　theoretical knowledge理論知識

 

　　4.Self-discipline名詞，自律。Self-control名詞，自控。discipline名詞，紀律。

 

　　其實，遵守紀律是有好處的：

 

　　School discipline(rules)is thought to be the key factor for students to develop(build)their self-discipline and self-control.遵守紀律了，以后就能自律還能自控。其實我也不信，但是這不重要。

 

　　5.在教育類的話題中，其實關(guān)于語言的學習也是經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)在討論之列。如下幾個詞，供大家參考：

 

　　linguist名詞，語言學家，說多種語言的人

 

　　bilingual名詞，講雙語的人。形容詞，雙語的，如：bilingual education

 

　　multilingual名詞，說多國語言的人。形容詞，多國語言的。

 

　　Bilingual education,where children are all taught in both English and their mother tongue,is much sought after by parents in non-English speaking countries.

 

　　PS：be sought after被追捧

 

　　說到語言學習，這個浸泡式學習方式不得不提：

 

　　immersion education/immersion bilingual education浸泡式雙語學習

 

　　English immersion classes浸泡式英語課程

　　The greater flexibility of the primary timetable allows for more frequent,shorter sessions and for a play-centred approach,thus maintaining learners’enthusiasm and progress.Their command of the languages in later life will benefit from this early exposure,while learning other languages subsequently will be easier for them.They may also gain a better understanding of other cultures.
